Terms of Service

Who can use Marmot Cinema

You must be at least 13 years old (or older where required by law) and able to enter into a binding agreement. If we have suspended your account, you may not create another.

Your account

You sign in with your email. Keep access to your email secure; you are responsible for activity on your account. Usernames must be unique and may not impersonate others or contain offensive content.

Rooms and your content

You keep ownership of what you post (comments, rooms, votes). You give us a licence to store, display and transmit it so the service works — for example, showing your comments to the members of your room.

Rooms are private to the people who join them, but anyone with an invite link or QR code can join. Admins can create a new invite to cancel the old one. Do not post anything you would not want other members to see.

Acceptable use

Do not use Marmot Cinema to:

• harass, threaten, hate on or discriminate against others, or post sexual content involving minors or other illegal content;
• post spam, malware or content that infringes someone’s rights;
• impersonate people, or collect other users’ information;
• attack, overload or reverse-engineer the service, or bypass its limits or security.

We may remove content, suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and report illegal activity to the authorities. To report content or a user, write to the contact email below.

Movie information

Titles, posters, genres and descriptions come from TMDB. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Marmot Cinema does not host, stream or sell movies; availability of a title depends on third-party services you choose to use.

Beta and availability

Marmot Cinema is in private beta and is free. Features may change or be removed, the service may be interrupted, and beta data may be reset. If we introduce paid features, we will tell you in advance and you will not be charged without agreeing.

Our rights

The app, website, design and brand belong to us or our licensors. We give you a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the app. You may not copy, sell or exploit it except as allowed by law.

Ending your use

You can stop using Marmot Cinema at any time and delete your account in Profile → Delete account. We may suspend or end access if you break these Terms or if required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as liability limits) continue after termination.

Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law, including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or that movie information is complete or accurate.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (which is zero while the app is free). Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. For material changes we will notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use Marmot Cinema after a change means you accept it.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by [jurisdiction, e.g. the laws of Mexico and the courts of your city], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Consumer protection rights in your country of residence still apply.
